Be Healthy

At Ashby School, all students are introduced to the importance of a healthy lifestyle. They are encouraged to eat and exercise responsibly and to be aware of teenage health care issues.

Ashby School was awarded 'Healthy School' status in 2006. Health education advisors who made the award were particularly impressed with the school's positive approach to issues such as mealtimes, PE, active citizenship and student safety.

A wide range of PE and sporting activities – from traditional sports to newer disciplines such as cheerleading and ultimate Frisbee - appeals to students of all abilities.

Students have the chance to pick up House points by taking part in various sporting events, including the popular, all-school sports day which is held once a year.
