Ashby's under 16 boys' badminton team is through to the national finals, after a thrilling victory in the regional round.
Harry Clare, Kieran Evans, Joe Goodenough and Marcus Kilby represented Leicestershire in the regional championships at Loughborough.
PE teacher Heather Scullion said: "They played tremendously well, winning their first two matches by five games to 0 and their second match by four games to one.
"Their final game was the most exciting as their opponents also came into the last match having won their previous three.
"Our boys won the first game but lost the second and third, then went on to win the fourth game. This took it to an incredible last deciding game which our boys won! "
The boys will compete in the national finals at Milton Keynes on Saturday 6 May.
