Biology Lesson Moves Outside
03 May 2018
Year 10 biologists made the most of the sunshine to go outside and collect quantitative data for their current GCSE topic.
The students used transects and quadrats to sample plant populations in different parts of the school grounds, including grassy areas and shaded spots.
They then returned to the classroom to record and analyse their data.
Biology teacher Esther Lockley said: "Practical exercises like this are vital to engage students, helping them to develop important skills, understand the process of scientific investigation and develop a broad understanding of scientific concepts."
