Maths Festival is Everyone's Cup of Tea
30 Jan 2018
Year 11 students have been testing their mathematical skills in the school's first maths festival, working together to solve a series of probloems.
About 300 students took part in the festival in two separate sessions.
All were challenged to complete eight different maths challlenges, ranging from logic puzzles to practice exam questions.
Head of maths Sam Blatherwick said: "Students were encouraged to harness their mathematical knowledge to solve a series of problems on eight different activity stations around the room.
"The festival was a useful way for them to revisit methods they have learned throughout their time at Ashby School and to practise not only their maths but their team working and communication skills."
