Chef Chloe Leach served up sushi and a fish assortment when she represented Ashby School at the Young Chef of the Year competition.
Chloe's main course included mini-towers of salmon, scallops and prawns served with courgettini and a special dressing.
It was followed by a mango mousse.
Chloe, who is in Year 10, was chosen from a number of promising chefs to represent the school at Samworth Academy.
Teacher Sarah Middleton, head of food technology at Ashby School, said: "It was a fantastic day with fab food produced by Chloe. The presentation and dishes looked amazing. We didn’t win but it was a great experience."
Before the competition, Chloe had three practice sessions, under the guidance of Tia Allen, who previously achieved third place nationally, and Ruth Andre Evans, of Ashby Rotary Club.
