Ashby is a fully comprehensive non-selective 14-19 school. The average entry each year for Resistant Materials is approximately 100 students.

This CD-ROM was developed primarily to improve the coursework and examination performance of a relatively low achieving subject.

Over the five year development period we have seen tremendous growth in student achievement.

The A*-C pass rate has risen from 40% to 77% in 2003. This was 31% above the national average for the specification.

Higher entry has risen from 30% of the cohort to 69% and there has been an improvement in coursework and examination performance of between 32% and 46%.

The school consistently demonstrates a positive value added score in Resistant Materials.
