Boarding at Ashby School
“Coming here, I feel that I have had a better chance at a decent education...I am happy at school and am properly motivated to do my best and achieve well” - Year 10 student
A state boarding school is a rare thing but, for more than four centuries, boys have come to find education in Ashby, a small and traditional market town in North West Leicestershire.
Our original Georgian boarding residence has been extended over the years to offer a blend of contemporary and traditional architecture and surroundings. It is home to up to 75 boys aged between 14 and 18 years, from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities, who benefit from each other’s experiences and cultures.
Parents and boys choose Schoolhouse for a variety of reasons. Some are drawn to the impressive setting, while others apply because they wish to experience the security and comfort of a caring environment while receiving an excellent education. Successful examination results in a wide variety of subjects are always a very significant factor when choosing to board at Schoolhouse.
One of the many elements that makes School House so special is the boys themselves. By being positive, hardworking and cheerful, they exemplify the strengths and values that have defined the boarding house for generations.
