Higher Education Convention for Year 12
08 Mar 2017
East Midlands Higher Education Convention 2017 at University of Loughborough
It is time for our Year 12 students to begin researching, planning and very soon applying to universities. We believe that it is essential for students to take advantage of open days and taster courses that universities offer to get an idea of what is available to them.
As part of this process, we will visit the East Midlands H.E. Convention on Wednesday 26 April 2017. Coaches will leave school at 10.15am and will depart from Loughborough at 12.45pm, returning to school at approximately 13.15pm. Students will be required to attend lessons before and after the trip as per their timetable.
This experience is part of the Sixth Form enrichment programme for all Year 12 students but places are limited by UCAS, the University and Colleges Admissions Service. The indemnity form will need to be submitted to the 6th Form Office asap to guarantee a place as there is a limit of 100 places. Students will attend the convention in school dress code. There is no cost for this visit.
The programme for the day:
Loughborough has confirmation of attendance from 145 universities, colleges and other relevant exhibitors, giving students the opportunity to talk to them informally. In addition, a number of seminars will be offered and students should be encouraged to attend relevant subject and general talks.
Students will be asked to collect a planning guide closer to the event to enable them to access the best range of seminars at the convention and will need to register for the event once their place has been confirmed.
If you have any questions regarding this event, please do not hesitate to contact the Sixth Form team.
