The vast majority of our students have an excellent attendance record in school. However, there is a small minority whose attendance is a major cause for concern. Government expectations are that a student should have an attendance of at least 95%. The latest published figures for the 2016/2017 academic year show that the national average for secondary age students was 95%. Ashby School subscribes to the MCAS app so that you can track your child’s attendance and help them maintain an excellent attendance record. Most Sixth Form schools require a minimum attendance of 95%,, including Ashby School.
We have recently experienced some altercations between students at school, which have been filmed by other students on their mobile phones. If your child is found to be involved in filming of this kind, this will lead to a fixed term exclusion. As a parent, I would urge you to please speak to your child and explain the importance of this.
