Uniform Guidance - Clarification on Footwear
31 Aug 2016
Dear Parent/ Carer,
I would like to thank you for following the uniform guidance. The vast majority of the students look very smart and are a credit to the school.
We are aware that there has been some confusion regarding footwear. Our preference is that students are in smart formal traditional shoes but we understand that retailers are now selling plain black leather shoes without logos which may be interpreted as meeting the criteria.
All students who were identified yesterday as not wearing formal shoes will be seen again tomorrow or Friday. Providing their footwear is plain black leather with no logos, they will be permitted to wear them this year. If there are logos or colours or they are canvas, they will not be permitted and the correct footwear needs to be in place by Monday. The wearing of boots or trainers is not permitted.
I hope this clarifies the situation but, should you have any questions or require any further clarification, please contact the relevant House Manager.
There is uniform guidance available on the website with a link to clear images which make our expectations clear.
We hope your son or daughter has a very successful time at Ashby School and carries on the tradition of high achievement that is our main focus.
Yours sincerely,
G. Staniforth
Deputy Headteacher
