Year 13 Finance Evening for Students and Parents - 7 February 2019
18 Jan 2019
Dear Year 13 parents/carers and students,
STUDENT FINANCE EVENING – 7th FEBRUARY 2019
After all the excitement and pressure of completing the UCAS application, it is quite normal for both students and parents to feel a bit anxious about the financial implications of university.
Common questions include: What will it cost? What finance is available? How is it accessed and how it is to be paid back?
We will be joined by Jamie Bradford, of De Montfort University, Leicester, who will explain the whole Student Finance system for wherever students have applied. The presentation will take place on 7 February in the school Lecture Theatre beginning at 7pm. The session is expected to last about an hour.
It is important to note that, the sooner students apply, the more chance there is that the money will be waiting for them at the start of term, making a smoother start to life at university.
Many students will already have received offers and be facing the biggest decision of all – to accept or reject? Some students are unsure of the process and the possible options available to them. To address this, we will explain the process of “what to do now” in an assembly on 27 March 2019.
