Year 13 Student Finance Evening - Wednesday 7 February 2018
22 Jan 2018
Dear Year 13 Parents/Carers and Students,
STUDENT FINANCE EVENING – 7th FEBRUARY 2018
After all the excitement and pressure of completing a UCAS application, it is quite normal for both students and parents to suddenly feel a bit anxious about the finances.
Common questions include: What are the costs of university? What finance is available? How do I access finance and how is it paid back? Issues like these are very much a part of entering Higher Education in 2018.
Vanessa Chetwyn from Leicester De Montfort University will explain the whole Student Finance system for wherever students have applied. This is important: the sooner students apply for finance, the more likely they are to find the money waiting for them at the start of term, making for a smoother start to life at university.
Hopefully, students will soon start to receive offers of places and will need to make a decision – accept or reject? Some students are unsure of the process and the possible options open to them. To address this, we will explain the process of “what to do now” in an assembly on 23 March 2018.
Some information will be advertised on the rolling screen in the Sixth Form Centre; however, for more detailed information, we invite you to attend Vanessa’s presentation which will take place on 7 February 2018 in the school Lecture Theatre, beginning at 7pm. The session is expected to last about an hour.
