All That Jazz: Students Bring Razzle Dazzle to 'Chicago' Show
06 Dec 2019
The roaring 20s were re-created for the school's production of award-winning musical ‘Chicago’.
Students from all year groups were involved in months of preparation, both front and backstage. While some took on the show’s colourful acting and singing roles, others provided technical support, designing and making costumes and working on sets and props.
The show wowed audiences over a week of evening and matinee performances and featured some of the best-loved song and dance numbers in musical theatre including ‘All That Jazz’ and ‘Razzle Dazzle’.
All musical numbers were played by the school’s own orchestra.
Drama teacher and Artistic Director Ali Jackson said: “’Chicago’ is one of the most popular and enduring musicals and our students did a fantastic job of bringing it to life and giving it a special Ashby twist.”
