Boys Head to Lee Valley for Semi Finals
03 Apr 2019
The boys' under 16 hockey team has become one of the first from a state school to progress to the semi-finals of the England Schools National Plate, in the history of the competition.
The boys beat Loughborough Grammar 4-2 in the National Plate quarter finals to secure their spot.
Their latest victory follows an 11 - 1 win against William Brookes School, the only Coubertin school in the country and part of an international network of schools based on the ethos of Pierre de Courbetin, who is credited with founding the modern Olympic games.
The semi-finals and final matches will be held over two days at Lee Valley, an elite athletics centre in London used by Olympic athletes such as Grey Rutherford and Jonnie Peacock.
