Iceland Lives up to Expectations

Humanities students spent their half term break exploring the geographical wonders of Iceland and even managed to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
Fifty students from Years 11, 12 and 13 travelled to Iceland to experience the country's unique landscape, including rivers and glaciers, and to sample its culture and customs. They also visited the beach featured in hit series 'Game of Thrones'.
Teacher Richard Cornell said: "There's nowhere else like Iceland on the planet so this was a great opportunity for students to experience that and to see nature at its raw best.
"The trip was not just about geography. It was also about enrichment and giving the students a life experience they'll never forget. It was a great success."
An enrichment and cultural trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius is planned for next year.
