Induction Breaks the Ice
05 Jul 2019
More than 550 students from 10 different schools have been settling into life at Ashby School, during three days of induction.
Students were given an introduction to the values, ethos and expectations at Ashby School, as well as sampling lessons.
They also took part in a series of ice breaker, House challenges - which included building towers out of spaghetti and a bin bag fashion parade - to get to know their new classmates and to practise their team working and communication skills.
Michelle Smith, Head of Year 10, said: "It has been great to meet so many of our new students and to show them just some of the fabulous opportunities they will have at Ashby School.
"Hopefully, we have allayed any fears they may have had and reassured them that everyone gets lost at least once when they first arrive, even the staff!!"
