NCS? Say Yes to an Exciting Summer!
16 Apr 2021
Want a summer to remember? Year 11 students can sign up now for NCS, after getting a taste of the scheme from visiting NCS staff.
All Year 11 students took part in an interactive NCS session as part of the school's Personal and Social Development (PSD) programme. During these sessions, students were involved in team building activities and other tasks, including memory and creative challenges.
Bradley Foley, from NCS, said: "NCS is a great way to develop your independence and pick up skills that will help you to smash your future goals, whatever you decide to do next, whether it's going into training, an apprenticeship or on to university. What's even better is that you can do it with your friends, if you want to, or step out of your comfort zone and make some new ones."
Students can choose between a two week and a three week experience. The programme includes a week of team-building challenges, a social action project and, for those on the three week programme, a residential week of activities. The total cost is £50 (or £10 for FSM, Pupil Premium and other eligible students).
In previous years, Ashby School has been named an NCS 'Champion School' because of the large number of students taking part.
