Remembrance Artworks Go on Display around Ashby
07 Nov 2018
Artwork by Ashby School art students has been displayed around the town centre, as part of Remembrance Day commemorations.
Five poppy-filled canvases designed by art students went on display in shop windows, as part of an initiative run by Ashby Arts Festival to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.
The canvases were created by students in Years 10, 12 and 13.
Head of Art Kate Storer said: "I am incredibly proud of the students and the work they produced in a relatively short time."
The artwork will late be moved to Ashby library where it will be sold to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.
