Still Time to Sign up to NCS - And Get Started Sooner!
01 Mar 2019
Lots of Ashby students have already signed up to NCS this summer - and can start the fun early by taking part in a Social Action Day on 6 April.
The National Citizen Scheme (NCS ), which runs over the summer and is largely funded by the government, is a great way for young people to boost their CVs and future prospects.
The three-week programme for 16 and 17-year-olds consists of two, four night residential stays and 30 hours in the local community. This summer, there are five different start dates to choose from.
A spokesperson from NCS said: "The scheme helps to build confidence, build friendships and deliver the summer of a life time, all while improving those all important CVs and personal statements. NCS is recognised nationally by employers and UCAS alike."
All Year 11 students have been given a form to be signed by their parents if they wish to take part. These can be returned to the NCS postbox in A block reception.
The scheme costs £50 for three weeks.
Those who have already signed up can join the Social Action Day in April.
