Culture at the heart of learning

Welcome to Ashby School

Ashby school is an inclusive 11-18 provision that sits in the heart of our local community and prides ourself on putting students at the heart of all we do.

Our ethos statements echo this, encouraging our students to be ‘Empowered to Learn’ and to believe that ‘Anything is Possible’ through hard work and commitment. Through this ethos, we combine academic aspiration and the opportunities for our students to embrace our core values; to Show Respect, Accept Responsibility and Build Resilience to prepare them for a successful future. We want all our students to have a happy and successful learning experience and the confidence and qualifications to step into successful futures.

We hope our website tells you a little more about the work we do and that, when we work together, at Ashby School, ‘Anything is Possible’.

On Wednesday 26th November our Year 7 and 8 Girls took part in an EFL Tournament at Leicester Seagrave Training Centre. There were 10 teams present and we came second overall. We lost to the Winning team, Thomas Estley Community College, in the final (1-0). It was a 7-a-side fixture and matches were 10 minutes long. The girls worked well supporting each other and cheering for each other when on the sideline. A special mention to our two goalkeepers for keeping a clean sheet until the final and for Clarissa who scored from her goal line. Out top goal scorer was Lexi, but we had 6 different players score throughout tournament. Thank you to Mrs Cooper for driving the mini-bus, Miss Wright for coaching and Zoe (LCFC inspires project) who invited us, it was an Incredible experience! #AshbySchool #EFL

Communication Update : Following feedback regarding the volume of emails received from school, we have reviewed our strategy and as a trial from the start of next term we will be moving some communications to the School Newsletter and/or Arbor App notifications. We advise you to allow push notifications on the Arbor App, if you haven't already done this. If you don't have this enabled, you may still receive emails to inform you when a notification is sent to you. You will still receive some communications via email, including the fortnightly newsletter, urgent notices, specific trip information for your child and behaviour communications. We may occasionally use text messaging for a time sensitive issue such as an emergency closure. We will evaluate this approach in the Spring term and thank you for your understanding whilst we improve our systems. If you don't have the Arbor App installed, please search for the Arbor Parent App or Arbor Student App on your device. More information and guidance can be found on our website under 'Parents' and 'Arbor' or via the link in our bio. #AshbySchool #CommunicationsUpdate
