All visitors to Ashby School are provided with a copy of our Safeguarding Visitor Leaflet which contains key safeguarding information and useful contact details.
The Report Abuse in Education helpline can be contacted on 0800 136 663, on Monday to Friday from 8am – 10pm, or 9am – 6pm at weekends. It can also be accessed by email at help@nspcc.org.uk
The helpline was launched by the government in March 2021 following allegations of peer on peer abuse in educational establishments and the testimonies posted online. It is run by the NSPCC to both support potential victims and provide advice to children and adults.
Ashby School is part of Operation Encompass which enables staff to support young people affected by domestic abuse. The school is contacted at the start of the school day if police have attended an incident of domestic abuse involving a relative of any student at the school.
Accessories produced by Leicestershire Neighbourhood Watch to help young people stay visible and safe while out and about can be found here. These include personal safety alarms and hi vis items.
Ashby School has produced its own student self-help booklet which is available from pastoral staff.
