Admissions and Induction

To join the Sixth Form, students must obtain a minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above, including maths and English language OR English literature.

Students must also meet the subject specific entry requirements for individual courses as specified in the options booklet.

Where students meet the entry criteria overall through having at least 5 subjects at Grade 4 but do not achieve a Grade 4 in Maths or English Language they may progress to Sixth Form where they meet individual subject criteria.  However, they will be required to attend resit lessons and resit English Language or Maths including if they have achieved a Grade 4 in English Literature.

Applications

Students can apply to Ashby Sixth Form using the PS16 portal at https://www.ps16.co.uk/login

If your school subscribes to PS16, please use the login provided. (This applies to Ashby School students.)

If your school does not subscribe to PS16, please register for an account via the ‘sign up’ tab. When you register, please select ‘out of area’ from the school dropdown menu.

Once completed, the person you have named as your referee will receive an email link (this should be someone at your current school). When this reference is completed, the application will be sent through to Ashby Sixth Form.

Applications for Sixth Form entry for autumn 2026 will close on the 9th January 2026.

Entry to Ashby Sixth Form will be subject to interview. Interviews for Ashby Sixth Form will take place during February & March 2026, exact dates to be confirmed.
