Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme helps students to develop new skills, experiences, opportunities and gain independence.

We are currently offering the following DofE opportunities:

Bronze Award (open to Year 9): Students will take part in volunteering, skills and physical activities over three months each, before completing a training and qualifying expedition. It’s a fantastic way to build confidence, resilience and teamwork while having fun with friends.

Silver Award (open to current Year 10 students). We are delighted to offer the opportunity for our Year 10 students to take part in the Silver Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award through Ashby School. You don’t have to have done the Bronze award to do the Silver award.

We are holding an online information event for students and their parents via Microsoft teams on Wednesday 12th November at 5.30pm (students who haven’t done Bronze) and at 6pm (all Silver participants).

Can you please complete the questionnaire in the full letter to give us an idea of the number of attendees at this event. Please find our full letter here with a link to sign-up to the online event.

Gold Award (open to Year 12 & 13): This is the highest level of the DofE and includes longer commitments for volunteering, skills and physical activities, as well as the exciting Gold expeditions in the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. Completing Gold is a prestigious achievement that is highly valued by universities and employers.
